What's in my bag?

Even though I believe that the gear definitely does not make the photographer, I am so often asked

"what brand of camera do you use?" or "what kind of camera should I buy?"

The most important factor should be your budget. Next, go into a local store and physically hold and test out the menus and buttons on the models you can afford.

You want to take any camera you get and learn it in and out and know how to use it in any lighting or scenario. Brands like Nikon, Canon, Sony nowadays will have excellent models even at entry-level, so you can't really go wrong. You will know when you've outgrown your camera and are ready to move up!
